I am a sustainable, mixed-media marbling artist, leatherworker and an educator, with over 30 year experience, I love teaching my crafts. Marbling is an endangered heritage craft and offers a diverse application as a surface pattern.

I marble on paper, ceramics, textiles, including leather, and on wood, to create leather goods, including jewellery, bags and journals; abstract art, wearable textile art, homewares, stitched books, gift wrap and stationery.

SHOP MADE TO ORDER

I make to order, shipping 3-4 weeks from order and for larger quantity trade orders, it's 6-8 weeks from order. If you are a gallery or shop, get in touch for trade terms. I can design and create a bespoke colour/pattern/product range for you.

In my shop you will find my made to order ranges, which include past commissions. All items in this range can be custom made to suit your preferences, so if want a particular colour thread on a stitched journal, let me know.

If you’d like to match your homewares, cushions or lampshades, to an interior paint, send me a paint sample, or fabric swatch for a curtain, to colour match.

In a fast moving world, I like to think I am the quiet voice saying,“slow made, it’s worth the wait...”

SHOP READY TO SHIP

My Ready to Ship range offers one of a kind, limited batch pieces, shipped 3-5 business days, with kits, inks and tools sent within 7 days from order. A couple of times a years, I offer seconds (perfectly imperfect!) and samples in this range.

I also pop in second hand, but in good condition, equipment and tools, perfect for novice marblers who may be on a budget.

Personalisation and gift wrap are complimentary, just let me know if you are gifting to someone special and I can leave the gift tag blank.

WORKSHOPS

If you are keen to learn how to marble, I tutor small, focussed workshops in my own studio in South Devon.

I also teach at other venues in Devon and across the UK at craft events and in museums. I am a tutor for West Dean Art College, Oxford Summer Art School, The National Trust and for The Creative Dimensions Trust.

EVENTS + VENUE WORKSHOPS This lists upcoming events, exhibitions and venue workshops dates and links to book for the next few months.

I have number of residential courses planned in May and June at The National Trust’s Heritage and Rural Skills Centre and at West Dean Art College.

Next upcoming workshop is at MADE Winchester on 7 May at Winchester Cathedral. We will ink marble and create a traditional Japanese stab-bound book.

I thoroughly enjoyed a marbling class with Rachel. I’d expected to enjoy the colours and patterns of marbling on fabric and paper. What I did not expect was how much her tuition would improve my practice! Rachel shared her knowledge by conveying the importance of cleanliness of tools and materials, the use of correct recipes and timescales for mordanting fabrics and papers, as well as explaining how workplace temperatures, humidity, and calm mindful practice impact the outcomes.
