Charity Donations

I am keen to show my support within my local community and for national charities.  For the past few years I have been donating proceeds from the sale of items created from leather ballet slippers, kindly donated by The Royal Ballet and Opera. I donate my time to create these accessories and jewellery and some of the sales proceeds to The Trussell Trust, the UK food bank charity.

I also offer donations through art and craft giveaways to my newsletter subscribers and on social media.  I raise funds at in-person events, offering original artwork, as well as hand made books and textile pieces made whilst demonstrating in workshops.  I enjoy donating my teaching time to organisations and community projects, such as Speakers for Schools and MAKE Southwest Saturday National Club, and the Green Maker Initiative Sustainable Making in Schools project.

SUBSCRIBER MONTHLY GIVEAWAY

I donate a shop item to a UK subscriber each month.  These have included, silk scarves, books, clocks, jewellery and zipped bags.  You can subscribe to my monthly newsletter at the base of this page, to be included in this month’s giveaway drawer.  Subscribe and request this month’s newsletter, follow the instructions and good luck!  Winner is randomly picked by an app.

ONCE A YEAR GIVEAWAY

Once a year I offer a discount to my home studio workshops to a subscriber.  I don’t announce it on my social media and donate the discount portion to charity..

ONE OF MANY POSTCARDS GIVEAWAY

#oneofmanypostcards

Over on Instagram I take part a few times a year in a charity postcard giveaway with @oneofmanypostcards.

How the charity postcard giveaway works:

Artwork is given away to randomly picked followers on Instagram. I make a limited batch of marbled and lino-cut printed postcards or textile collage postcards to send to chosen followers for them to donate what they can to their chosen charity.

Offering art postcards this way is based on trust and I love that my postcards have been sent all over the world and the feedback received and the recipients charities chosen.
