I am a sustainable, multi-media marbling artist and an educator. I marble on paper, natural textiles, including leather, and on wood. I love the diversity of marbling, creating leather goods, wearable textile art, soft furnishings, lighting and stationery.
Marbling is a surface pattern originating in Japan over a thousand years ago and is now seen as an endangered craft.
WORKSHOPS
If you are keen to learn how to marble, I tutor workshops in my own studio in South Devon, in local galleries and at events. I enjoy demonstrating in schools, galleries and museums throughout the UK. I am also a tutor at West Dean Art College and for Oxford Summer Art School.

I make to order, shipping 3-4 weeks from order and 6-8 weeks for larger trade orders. In my shop you will see a gallery of past makes, which can be custom made to suit you. If you’d like a different colour, or need to match to an interior paint, send me a swatch to colour match

My shop will occasionally offer one of a kind, limited batch runs, ready for shipping, as well as second hand good condition equipment and tools, perfect for novice marblers. What I did not expect was how much her tuition would improve my practice! Rachel shared her knowledge by conveying the importance of cleanliness of tools and materials, the use of correct recipes and timescales for mordanting fabrics and papers, as well as explaining how workplace temperatures, humidity, and calm mindful practice impact the outcomes.
